Relive the Golden Age of Railroading aboard one of our elegant Dining Cars: the Chocorua on the Valley Trains, or the Hattie Evans on the Notch Train. Enjoy a First-Class dining experience with friendly and attentive service in a unique restaurant where the views are constantly changing.
Enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as you travel through spectacular Crawford Notch – past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge – enroute to Crawford station.
In 1974, after several years of hard work with many dedicated volunteers, Dwight Smith and his partners reopened the beautiful 1874 Boston & Maine railroad station and surrounding property in the center of North Conway Village. Their goal was to preserve and share the New Hampshire railroading experience with future generations. The station that they so lovingly restored remains a village icon today.
In the beginning, there were 5½ miles of track between North Conway and Conway villages and only coach seating was available. We now operate two passenger excursion trains over three routes and 35½ combined miles, each with seating choices of Coach, First Class and Dining Car. It is our hope that, regardless of your age or choice of travel accommodations, you will enjoy a ride with us this year and, just for a while, find yourself transported back to a time when life was simpler and railroads fueled the economic growth of our country.
